Karen Dyer
Artist’s quote: “I consider myself a realism artist but not of reality”
Painting solely in oil and with a primary focus on producing quirky contemporary realism, Karen works to imbue her chosen subjects with character and soul. Her inspiration is drawn from a strong interest in English Folklore and Animism, and her anthropomorphic creations are in demand by collectors throughout Australia.
Karen lives and works in the vibrant inner-city suburb of West End, Queensland, and is represented by Revival Art and Design Gallery in Albion.
Each of Karen’s paintings take between 30 and 40 hours to complete once the original concept has been imagined. Multiple processes are involved resulting in a meticulously detailed, colourful and often humorous ‘portrait’.
