Karen Dyer

Painting solely in, Karen considers herself a painter of realism.

Initially focusing on still life (with soul) and portraiture, she was always drawn to the landscape, however did not want to paint a ‘realistic’ landscape as a photograph could capture the same scene.

Karen now creates landscapes out of collage initially and then paints a ‘portrait’ of the collage. This has allowed her to capture the landscape using her realism painting technique whilst achieving an abstracted reality of the landscape.

Karen lives and works in the vibrant inner city suburb of West End, Queensland and is represented by Revival Art and Design, Albion, Queensland.
